Seniors are incredibly vital members of all communities. They are our historians, educators, supporters, and advocates.  At CARC we believe in the ongoing support and engagement of seniors for the benefit of all community members, especially immigrant, newcomer and low-income seniors. Through the Seniors Support Group, we actively support Seniors in self-determining their ongoing active engagement in the community by offering senior-led and senior-friendly programs.  Seniors are able to participate directly and/or become leaders, facilitators, and volunteers. Interpretation is available in Somali, Spanish, Polish, and Portuguese.

Seniors Support is available twice a week – Wednesdays & Fridays 1 pm to 4 pm.

Current activities include:

Keeping Fitness Fun – light, senior-friendly health, and wellness program featuring 1 hour of light exercise twice a week

Super Seniors – This exciting project seeks to highlight the amazing stories of courage, strength, and resilience of immigrant and newcomer seniors in a series of short stories for children featuring the seniors as SUPER HEROES!

Feel free to drop by and join in. We’d love to have you.

Seniors Support is generously supported by the City of Toronto and the Ontario Seniors Secretariat.
